Los Óscar, que retrasaron su 93 edición dos meses debido a la pandemia, apostarán este año por una gala presencial con retransmisiones en directo desde diferentes lugares, incluido su hogar habitual del Dolby Theatre en Los Ángeles (EE.UU.).

La Academia de Hollywood está determinada a presentar unos Óscar como ningunos, a la vez que a priorizar la salud pública y la seguridad de todos los que participen», dijo hoy, en un comunicado remitido a Efe, un portavoz de la institución que cada año organiza la gran gala del cine.

«Para crear el show presencial que nuestra audiencia global quiere ver, adaptando a la vez los requisitos por la pandemia, la ceremonia se retransmitirá en directo desde múltiples lugares, incluido el emblemático Dolby Theatre. Estamos deseando compartir más detalles pronto», añadió.

Las nominaciones se darán a conocer el 15 de marzo.

Los rumores y dudas sobre cómo será la próxima edición de los Óscar han circulado por Hollywood en los últimos meses.

Steven Soderbergh producirá junto a Stacey Sher y Jesse Collins esta ceremonia de los Óscar.

«Estamos entusiasmados y aterrorizados por igual», ironizaron Soderbergh, Sher y Collins, que debutarán como productores de los Óscar.

Por su parte, Soderbergh es uno de los cineastas más respetados y prolíficos del panorama contemporáneo, se llevó el Óscar a la mejor dirección por «Traffic» (2000), y su muy variada filmografía incluye títulos como «Sex, Lies and Videotape» (1989), la trilogía de «Ocean’s Eleven» (2001, 2004, 2007), o el díptico sobre el Che Guevara «Che: Part One» y «Che: Part Two» (ambas de 2008).
