ESA lanza una campaña para nuevos astronautas ESA launches campaign for new astronauts

Berlín.- La Agencia Espacial Europea (ESA) abre el plazo para presentar las solicitudes de contratación de nuevos astronautas, proceso que tiene lugar once años después del anterior y con el que pretende acometer 'un verdadero cambio generacional' en ese organismo.

Las vacantes para reclutar entre cuatro y seis astronautas permanentes estarán abiertas hasta el 28 de mayo de 2021, y por primera vez se incluirá a un astronauta con discapacidad física.

Para postularse, el candidato debe cumplir varios requisitos, como tener entre 27 y 37 años, ser ciudadano de uno de los Estados miembros de la ESA o Estados asociados, tener al menos una maestría y tres años de experiencia profesional en ciencias naturales, medicina, ingeniería, matemáticas o informática y tener al menos un nivel C1 de inglés y un B1-B2 en otros idiomas no nativos.

Berlin.- The European Space Agency (ESA) opens the deadline to submit applications for hiring new astronauts, a process that takes place eleven years after the previous one and with which it intends to undertake 'a true generational change' in that body .

Vacancies to recruit between four and six permanent astronauts will be open until May 28, 2021, and for the first time an astronaut with a physical disability will be included.

To apply, the candidate must meet several requirements, such as be between 27 and 37 years old, be a citizen of one of the ESA Member States or Associated States, have at least a master's degree and three years of professional experience in natural sciences, medicine, engineering, mathematics or computer science and have at least a C1 level of English and a B1B2 in other non-native languages.
