MIAMI.- The singer Selena Gómez, who will present on May 8 a global concert called "Vax Live" and aimed at promoting an equitable distribution of the vaccines against covid-19, wrote on Twitter to several world leaders to ask for their help to achieve that goal.

In the last hours the interpreter sent messages to the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, and to the heads of Government of Italy, Mario Draghi, and Spain, Pedro Sánchez, among others, and to all his followers so that they could also write to them with the same request.

Organized by Global Citizen, an NGO from California (USA), with partners such as the president of the European Commission, the WHO and large companies, the concert on May 8 will be recorded before it is broadcast on television channels and on streaming, which will begin at 8:00 p.m. EDT (00:00 GMT on May 9).

«Prime Minister @sanchezcastejon I am excited to join you on #Vaxlive. We need your help to end the COVID-19 pandemic for everyone, everywhere. Will you agree to donate dollars or doses to help everyone access the vaccine? "Gómez wrote in her message to Pedro Sánchez.

Sánchez responded with a message in English in which he affirms that "Spain is committed to equitable and universal access to vaccines."

The concert will feature performances by Jennifer Lopez, Eddie Vedder, Foo Fighters, J Balvin, and HER, among others, while a limited audience of vaccinated frontline workers will be invited to view the concert at the Los Angeles location where it is filmed.
