Se anima a los estudiantes a solicitar el Sello de Bilingüismo High school seniors encouraged to apply for Seal of Biliteracy

TULSA, OK -- Las Escuelas Públicas de Tulsa (TPS) desean exhortar a los estudiantes multilingües, de último año de preparatoria, a aplicar para el reconocimiento de su competencia en múltiples idiomas y graduarse con el Sello de Alfabetización Bilingüe. Los estudiantes pueden aplicar, en línea, a través de www.tulsaschools.org/sealofbiliteracy. Los estudiantes podrán aplicar hasta el viernes 22 de octubre.

El año escolar 2021-2022 es el cuarto año consecutivo en que el distrito ofrece a sus estudiantes la oportunidad de graduarse con el Sello de Alfabetización Bilingüe. Durante el primer año del programa, las Escuelas Públicas de Tulsa fueron el primer distrito escolar en el estado de Oklahoma en ofrecer el Sello de Alfabetización Bilingüe en 11 idiomas diferentes.

“Los estudiantes que adquieren el Sello de Alfabetización Bilingüe, no solo incrementan la competencia cultural a nível global, sino que también logran afianzar sus habilidades lingüísticas que les serán útiles en la universidad, en sus carreras y en la vida”-dijo Ebony Johnson, Directora General de Aprendizaje. ”Estamos orgullosos de los logros de nuestros estudiantes, y de poder ofrecer esta oportunidad a los estudiantes este año”.

Desde el año escolar 20182019, alrededor de 168 estudiantes han obtenido el Sello de Alfabetización Bilingüe de las Escuelas Públicas de Tulsa en Inglés e idiomas como Bangla, Chino, Francés, Hmong, Indonés, Latín, Pasto, Ruso, Español, Yoruba y Zomi.

Los estudiantes interesados tienen hasta el viernes 22 de octubre para aplicar; los seleccionados deben demostrar su competencia en más de un idioma. Los estudiantes pueden aplicar a través de www.tulsaschools.org/sealofbiliteracy.

TULSA, OK -- Tulsa Public Schools is encouraging multilingual seniors to apply for recognition of their proficiency in multiple languages by graduating with the district’s Seal of Biliteracy. Students can apply online at www.tulsaschools.org/sealofbiliteracy. The student application deadline is Friday, October 22.

The 2021-2022 school year marks the district’s fourth year of offering students the opportunity to graduate with a Seal of Biliteracy. In the first year of the program, Tulsa Public Schools was the first public school district in the State of

Oklahoma to offer the Seal of Biliteracy in 11 different languages.

“Students who successfully earn the Seal of Biliteracy not only increase global cultural competence, but gain strong language skills that will help them be successful in college, careers, and life,” said Chief Learning Officer Ebony Johnson. “We are so proud of our students’ accomplishments, and we are excited to offer this opportunity to this year’s seniors.”

Since the 2018-2019 school year, 168 students earned the Tulsa Public Schools Seal of Biliteracy in both English and in other languages such as Bangla, Chinese, French, Hmong, Indonesian, Latin, Pashto, Russian, Spanish, Yoruba, and Zomi.
