Vision Arts grant applications are open

-

TULSA, OK -- Local nonprofit arts organizations are invited to apply for the next round of grants from the Vision Arts program managed by the City of Tulsa, Tulsa Arts Commission and Tulsa Planning Office. Nov. 30 is the deadline for applications for these grants funded through the Vision Tulsa sales tax. A total of $2,250,000 was approved by voters in 2016 as part of the Vision Tulsa capital package to support the arts in Tulsa and enhance their economic impact. These grants are scheduled for regular distribution during the Vision Tulsa program.

Vision Arts, a collaboration between Tulsa City Council, the Mayor’s Office and Tulsa Arts Commission, will provide selected 501©(3) and 501©(3)-sponsored organizations funding for programs that support art projects that stimulate economic development throughout Tulsa. Applying organizations may request up to $50,000 in funding with no private match requirement.

“Recognizing the value of arts to

Tulsa’s community life and economy, the Vision Tulsa capital improvement package included funding reserved for arts activities that also spark economic growth,” Mayor G.T. Bynum said. “As we are recovering from the effects of COVID-19 on our economy, grants from Vision Tulsa can help arts organizations launch new creative projects for audience enjoyment and economic benefits.”

Eligible organizations must provide proof of their own (or sponsor’s) tax-exempt status, provide details about how the project will align with the Vision Arts goals and demonstrate the potential economic impact for the Tulsa community. Organizations selected for the grants will have until Dec. 31, 2022 to make qualifying expenses.

City Councilor Crista Patrick, a member of the Independent Review Panel assisting the Tulsa Arts Commission, said, “I am proud to be part of the Vision Arts process, helping arts organizations enable local artists and technicians to produce quality events to energize local economic recovery.”
