Don Valentin the best steak of Villa Elisa: organic, fresh and tasty

-

Its owner, Sergio Miguel Amadillio, is completely obsessed with the bon vivre, the art of pleasing others, which is why at his restaurant you can find products directly from farm to table. He produces his own veggies and even the meat, which comes from cows feed with the best grass in the country.

“I always loved to grow my own veggies and I have two little greenhouses where I produce and try to use those veggies in the restaurant,” he explained. “I don’t use chemicals, making everything as natural as possible.”

It’s hard to stop eating those great chorizos (typical Argentinean sausages) he produces and sells, which come always sided by a delicious provoleta (melted provolone cheese) and a juicy steak never at least as good as any in this country of steaks. And don’t worry, if you want to keep on trying more food but you don’t have enough money, here you can eat until you explode without breaking the bank.

“Once the client has spent what he should, the rest is on the house,” said Amadillo with a huge smile on his face.

One wonders how can such great food cost less than $20 per person, considering in America such a gastronomic feast is only affordable to loaded pockets. But in this corner of the world were time lays still and cows grace blissfully everything seems possible.

If you take a closer look at Don Valentin, it seems like a replica of those family restaurants you can find in Tulsa but with the classic Argentine sophistication.

“There can be occasional clashes with the family but they don’t last,”

Sergio acknowledged, but he is well aware that in a country like Argentina the only ones that really have your back are those related by blood. In these lands having employees is so burdensome, for the high costs and the ubiquitous work issues, that the only way forward for entrepreneurs is to trust in their inner circle of love. And this family really works hard to make clients enjoy meals as if they were real kings, something that Sergio himself learned with his years of work at a five stars hotel.

Don Valentin is without a doubt the icon of Villa Elisa, a gathering place for the local community that belongs to an outstanding family who understands the importance of giving, and even chops its own wood to keep those fires burning, fires that illuminate the hearts and minds of friends and tourists alike, turning ordinary nights into unforgettable encounters.

Sergio has a great life, in which he seems to nurture of all those things he creates while having fun at work, knowing that’s the way of being closer to the things he loves: his grandchildren and horses.

To all those youngsters in the first world trying to be greater, Sergio has a piece of advice from the Austral country:

“Remember that knowledge is always a plus. I know how to work the wood, how to be a mechanic, how to weld, and I found my passion in the gastronomic business. But still, I can do anything to survive. Try to learn something else, besides school and technology,” he said, then smiled and off he went to greet a new client. (La Semana)
