Music, Love and Flavor, the Secret of Puerto Bello

-

The owner of the establishment is Rogelio Moreno, a charming Mexican from Veracruz, whose spirit is contagious, and who combines passion and work at the same place, where he practices both singing and entrepreneurship. He came to the US 17 years ago walking, and like many others and used his musical knowledge to survive in the concrete jungle.

“I played the guitar wherever I could, in churches, restaurants, and every place I could find, it has always been my world,” he explained.

Today, you can hear Rogelio’s voice twice a month at his restaurant, and sometimes at private events such as quinceañeras and weddings.

“But is tough, there is too much work,” he recognized, aware than success is something built daily.

Rogelio is a responsible man, one that sets the bar in the gourmet industry.

“The only thing I want to do is work and achieve progress -- that’s what’s gets me up every day. I have to be the best example I can be, for my family and my employees,” he said, recognizing his success couldn’t have been possible without the precious help of his wife, who works beside him.

Today Rogelio and his family dream about opening a new restaurant.

“We have two taco food trucks on the road, and we want a new restaurant, even if fear is always there to challenge us,” he said, expressing his belief that nothing is impossible.

Puerto Bello is one of the least expensive restaurants in East Tulsa, where you can enjoy seafood and typical delicacies such as “las gorditas,” made with masa and stuffed with cheese, Rogelio’s favorite.

Don’t hesitate to pay a visit to Puerto Bello located at 10818 E 41st Street, and enjoy some of the best traditional food in town.

And if you are an entrepreneur, follow Rogelio’s advice: “Don’t be afraid, it is hard and you will have to work long hours and double shifts, but you’ll make it in the end,” he said. (La Semana)
