Fourth robbery in Pancho Anaya of KW

-

“Unfortunately, this is the fourth time in a very short time that they broke the windows and entered the place,” Anaya told La Semana. “They took a little cash that we left in the cash register, but there are more setbacks because obviously they broke the windows, which is the most expensive. It is more what they destroyed than what they took away,”

Anaya stresses that they have previously resisted installing fencing, so as not to give the impression that KW is a dangerous area, but due to the repeated robberies they have no other choice.

“We have been opposing putting in a fence because it obviously detracts from the area and would give the impression of this being a dangerous area, of being a high-risk area and we don't like it, but we don't like that the establishment is being vandalized,” the baker explained. “We are very sorry to have to do this for the neighbors, for us, for the properties because they are devalued. But we can no longer endure these acts of vandalism.”

Anaya appreciates the support that the Tulsa Police Department (TPD) has given him, and adds that vandals act very quickly and leave before the officers arrive. He tells us that in the third robbery, the police managed to recover some things and located those responsible.

"Regarding the treatment by the police, we have nothing to complain about, they have done well, they have treated us well." He affirmed.

Anaya believes that the increase in insecurity is partly due to the country's economic situation.

"I think that safety in Tulsa is good, what happens is that the economic situation of the country, inflation, has motivated some people to engage in these types of acts." (La Semana)
