DEAR 7TH GRADE STUDENTS >>

I know distance learning can be a pain in the butt, but you can make it through it I promise. You just need to push through and get good grades so once you’re in high school you’re not behind or don’t know what to do. This pandemic has put a damper on all of our lives. Make sure you get outside and do some PE because that can help you focus when you’re in class on your meetings. Maybe you and your friends can make kind of like deal and push each other to succeed. Once you get to high school, it becomes a lot more complicated and harder, so if you get organized and make a schedule for yourself now so it doesn’t become even more overwhelming. Anyways, I hope you’re still making memories through this pandemic and remember the Coronavirus will be over at sometime. Sincerely,

Emma Hansen

DEAR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS >>

I know it’s hard learning online school. I am in high school doing the same online learning, I know that it is hard to sit at your computer and not be there with your friends and classmates . It’s hard for me too, but I know that we can all get through this together. We just have to think positive and appreciate all our teachers trying to make it fun for us. Even though it is very hard trying to keep up with the classes, we know you can do it! Have fun, be safe, and keep thinking positive about this online schooling. We’ll get through this together!

Signed,

MHS Student

DEAR STUDENTS >> I just want you to know that you’re not alone, and it will get better. Keep pushing yourself to get your work done and get those good grades in! I know you can do it! You might not think that you can succeed right now, but you need to take that hard turn to learn. You can do it. I know distance learning can be tough, but that doesn’t mean you should give up. All this can do is strengthen you. This won’t last forever, so remember we are all in this together. Keep going.

—From,

MHS Student

DEAR STUDENTS OF ANY GRADE >>

I’m in distance learning just like you. Make sure to just be consistent and do your work, When you look back in the future, you will realize how smart you were and maybe have more confidence to take a job that requires more of you using your head. And if you’re paying attention a lot in one of your classes more than the others use the knowledge from that class to solve problems in a different class, One day you will grow up and think about how you got through this chaotic time with the pandemic and maybe even realize that you can get through harder stuff than you think. Just make sure to push through this will hopefully be over one day. Take Care,

MHS Student

DEAR MIDDLE/HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS >>

I know that distance-learning is a lot harder than in-person school.

Considering that we’re not side-by-side with all of our usual people, we’ve lost a sense of security. Your friends are only a text, a call, or an email away. It’s not the same as being side-by-side, but it’s better than nothing. So while you’re trying to succeed in school remember that it’s just as important to take care of yourself and to be there for people who need you if you can be. It’s okay to miss people, to feel vulnerable, to be sad, or frustrated, and it’s okay to not be okay. It’s also okay to feel happy or content, no matter what you feel— it’s okay to feel that way. If you have good grades, that’s great. Be proud and keep it up. If you have not so great grades, just try to remember how it feels to succeed, and be proud of yourself because life won’t always be like this. Things will get better. I just want all of you to know that just because people aren’t exactly focused on you doesn’t mean that they don’t think of you, and it doesn’t mean that you’re not valid because every single one of you is valid. It just means that because of everything going on in the world every single person has their own situations to face, and no one should be alone.

But a very common coping mechanism is to push people away, so if you ever feel alone try to connect with your friends. Some of them will feel the same way. Don’t be so hard on yourself because if you can make it through 20202021, you’ve done a lot to be proud of. Good luck everyone.

Much hope,

Jordan

DEAR 4TH GRADE STUDENTS >>

You may not like these online classes and the way things are going right now, but it’s not all that bad. You have to keep trying to do your homework. You may not know this right now, but school is so important for your future. If you don’t finish high school, life’s not going to be so good without that diploma. You need to push yourself to do better in class. Talk to your teachers who can help you with some of your class work. Ask others to help. Try your hardest on the tests and assignments that make a huge difference in high school. Keep your head up lil ones.

Sincerely,

Benji Vazquez

DEAR MIDDLETOWN STUDENT >>

Distance learning is different for everyone. Some people might struggle with it and some people might succeed in it and be fantastic. If you are struggling with this, don’t be scared to ask your teacher for help, they are happy to help and love when students reach out when they need help on something, or if you don’t feel comfortable reaching out to a teacher, reach out to a fellow classmate and ask for help. Don’t feel bad if you don’t have the best grades, this is new for everyone. Some things are gonna be harder because it’s online but don’t give up, keep trying. That’s what I did and I surprised myself and came out with really good grades. I really hope this letter helped and you take some of my advice. Good luck mustangs :)

DEAR MIDDLE SCHOOLER >>

I’m a junior at Middletown High School and I know distance learning is very stressful and difficult. I’m pretty sure it’s equally as stressful on you. Being at home all day and not being able to go out because of Covid has probably been the hardest part about all this for me. A couple weeks ago I lost most of my motivation to do anything and all my grades dropped. I realized I needed to work through all this no matter how much I didn’t want to. All i want for whoever is reading this letter to learn from my experience is that you are still young and school should be your top priority. Don’t let silly little things get in the way of your education and I know that this is challenging but you can get through it. good luck!

All the best

MHS student

DEAR ANONYMOUS >> My wish for you is that you see a light in this world, in yourself, and in others. I can see a light in you. Complement others and be proud of yourself. I am proud of you. Believe in yourself, you are stronger than you know. I believe in you. Try harder, but you know your limits. I will help you. You just have to trust others. Smile more often. I love to see your smile. You are a unique special and amazing person. I appreciate all of you.

Sincerely,

Wyatt Smith

DEAR MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS >>

I think we can all agree that this whole situation sucks. I’ve had to self teach, I’ve missed a lot of work, and gotten a couple bad grades. I am able to stick to school without frustration through all of this because I have hope it will all be over soon. Until it is over, however, make sure to stay on track with those grades!

On the computer working til noon, But this will all be over soon,

Until then keep yourself on trail,

And make sure none of your classes fail!

—Take care,

James Watson

DEAR 5TH GRADE STUDENTS >>

Distance learning is a lot harder than we thought, I get that. I myself am in my junior year of highschool so I do understand the struggle. If you keep a glass half full attitude towards everything that is thrown at you, you will overcome anything. Keep your heads up kids, you will pull through. Remember kiddos, have fun.

Later kids,

Jacob Perry

Distance learning may be rough, but stick it out and be tough. Homework may be hard but summer is not that far.

DEAR 7TH GRADE STUDENTS >>

I can only imagine the struggles you’re going through right now, I’m having a bit of a hard time myself. Hopefully your classes aren’t too hard and that you are keeping up with your assignments and grades. Having to switch to learning from multiple teachers than from just one that taught you everything must be pretty nevracing. Just know that you’ll get back in school hopefully soon, and that Covid-19 is only here temporarily. Remember to try your very best in all classes even if it’s not your favorite, be prepared for difficult tasks coming your way.Never be afraid to ask questions or ask for help, we all need help sometimes We’re all fighting this together so we all need to stay safe. Wish you the best of luck and don’t forget to smile and have fun ;)

Take Care,
