We of Clear Lake Gleaners, Inc., the Food Bank of Lake County, extend our sincere appreciation to those of you who have provided support throughout 2020, the year of many challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Many of our volunteers have chosen to remain at home for their safety, and we support them for we know once the COVID-19 virus has subsided they will once again be at our beck and call. For those who have been at our sides we extend a big thank you for without your support we could not continue to feed the elderly, low income and homeless families of Lake County. Support comes from many avenues and we say “Thank You” for large and small monetary donations.

Pacific Gas and Electric we thank you for your grant which allowed us to complete the reroofing of our Gleaners headquarters and add new fencing. USDA, Food Link, Redwood Empire Food Bank and California Association of Food Banks a sincere thank you for the food you continue to send for our distributions. Food

Link has been excellent with their service with Penny Blackburn leading their crew and going out of their way to provide a refrigerated trailer for our use during a summer crises. Their drivers have been exceptional to work with and we are sorry that we will no longer be working with them. No fault of theirs or ours.

Safeway of Lakeport and Clear Lake, as well as Bruno’s Shop Smart of Lakeport donate breads, pastries. and miscellaneous items several times weekly. Grocery Outlet, Hardesters of Middletown and IGA of Clearlake provide bags to our outlying sites for distribution of commodities to our clients in their areas. In addition Safeway and Bruno’s donate hundreds of canned items through their annual holiday funding campaigns which are truly appreciated.

Never to be forgotten are the motorcycle clubs, headed up by the Freedom Riders of Lakeport who donated approximately one thousand turkeys for our Thanksgiving distribution. Their motorcycle run is an annual event which has grown substantially each year.

Thank you to all! Thank you Scully Family for the use of your loading ramp, storage and donation of pears. We appreciate your generosity and being such good neighbors. Several large monetary donations have been received and weather large or small all are truly appreciated as we continue to grow and look towards finding a larger warehouse. Donations may be made at the Clear Lake Gleaners headquarters, 1896 Big Valley Road, Finley or P. O. Box 266 Finley, CA 95435. Thank you, each and everyone of you who have supported us in the past and we hope to have that continuing support through 2021. God Bless you and keep you healthy and safe.
