Everest begins temporary detail on the Grindstone Ranger District

WILLOWS >> Please join the Mendocino National Forest in welcoming Loren Everest as the acting district ranger on the Grindstone Ranger District. Everest will be onboard as the acting district ranger for 120 days. .

Everest is a fourth generation Forest Service employee with over 30 years of experience working on national forests in Alaska, California, Idaho, Washington and Michigan. He has a bachelor’s degree in Fisheries and spent 25 years as a Fishery Biologist before moving into Public Services. Everest is a native of northern California and enjoys fishing, hunting and whitewater. Everest says, “I’m looking forward to learning about the Mendocino National Forest and working with the people here.”

Everest will be responsibl­e for management and oversight of resources, personnel, and services on the Grindstone Ranger District. He can be reached by phone at (530) 934-1250 or email loren. everest@ usda. gov. Everest replaces Christine Hill who retired in 2020.
