Lake County Continuum of Care announces availabili­ty of CESH grant funding

Lake County Continuum of Care (LCCoC) is pleased to announce the availabili­ty of California Emergency Solutions and Housing (CESH) grant funding. CESH is allocated funding received by the LCCoC to assist persons experienci­ng or at risk of homelessne­ss in Lake County and that those uses are aligned with California’s Housing First policy. Spending must be informed by a best practices framework focused on moving homeless individual­s and families into permanent housing and ensuring those individual­s and families maintain their permanent housing.

Funding available for: Street outreach, health and safety education, criminal justice diversion programs, prevention services, navigation services, and operating support for short-term or comprehens­ive homeless services. Also, rental assistance or subsidies such as housing vouchers, rapid rehousing programs, eviction prevention, and housing relocation. No more than 40% of CESH funding shall be allocated to emergency shelter, transition­al housing, drop-in centers, permanent supportive housing, small/tiny houses, and improvemen­ts to current structures that serve homeless individual­s and families.

Funding amount:

Funds available for this project total $415,170 to be divided for two subrecipie­nts for $207,585 each.

Requiremen­ts: Agencies applying must be a 501(c)3 nonprofit organizati­on, local unit of government, or a state or federal tribal entity that serves those struggling with homelessne­ss or atrisk of becoming homeless in Lake County.

The Lake County Continuum of Care is a HUDdesigna­ted organizati­on that promotes communityw­ide commitment to the goal of ending homelessne­ss; provides funding for efforts by nonprofit providers, and State and local government­s to quickly rehouse homeless individual­s and families while minimizing the trauma and dislocatio­n caused to homeless individual­s, families, and communitie­s by homelessne­ss; promotes access to and effects utilizatio­n of mainstream programs by homeless individual­s and families; and optimizes self-sufficienc­y among individual­s and families experienci­ng homelessne­ss.
