Phyllis Anne Gustafson Cole

-

Phyllis Anne Gustafson Cole joined her family members who passed before her on October 28, 2021, with her daughters,

Denise and Angela, and sister, Robin, by her side.

Phyllis was born in

Alameda and raised in

Oakland. She lived in

Napa, Stockton, and finally settled in Clearlake, California. Clearlake was a place Phyllis spent many summers in her young years which is why she made Clearlake the final place she settled.

Phyllis had an infectious smile and a big heart. Her generous spirit and giving nature spread to all those around her. Phyllis accepted everyone the way they were, welcoming all into her life. Whenever needed, she had useful advice to share, always with a smile and positive nature.

Phyllis faced many adversities in life but rose above them all to earn an Associates in English, marrying and raising three daughters, and writing throughout her life. Her love was poetry, and she

would write poems to express her thoughts and feelings on her great loves: her family, her country, and her spiritual beliefs. Phyllis loved to enjoy life, swimming in the summer was her favorite. Camping and the beach were close seconds. But, most of all, she just loved living life, being with her family and finding beauty in her surroundings. Phyllis

cherished her grandchildren and was proud of their accomplishments, as much as she was proud to have helped them achieve their dreams.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, Dennis Cole, her daughters, Denise and Angela, her eleven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, three sisters, four stepsiblings, many nieces, nephews and cousins who were very dear to her. She also leaves behind her friends/extended family she acquired along the way. She was predeceased by her daughter, Janelle Malec; her parents, Chester Gustafson, Phyllis LaBrie and Lloyd LaBrie; her sisters, Doreen and Janet; her step-brother, Larry, and many beloved cousins.

There will be a Celebration of Life at 12 noon on November 21st, at the Elks Lodge in Napa, CA.
