Michael Avery Weeden

-

Our Beloved Brother and Uncle, Michael Avery Weeden, passed away unexpectedly on September 28, 2021 at age 67 due to health complications. We are heartbroken that he has left us much too soon.

Michael is preceded in death by his girlfriend, Catherine Ann ‘Katie’ McCabe; his parents, Tom and Yvonne ‘Bonnie’ Weeden; nephews, Joshua and Jeramie Young; and grandniece, Zoe Sommer.

Michael is survived by his sisters, Tommie ‘TJ’ (Herman “Butch”) Kloth, Kristine “Kris” (Larry) Young, and Tina (Scott) Ellison; nephews, Jeffrey Crouch, Jacob Young, and Erik Kloth (Jill Stidham); niece, Laura (Jeff) Sommer; several cousins; many grandnieces and grandnephews and his beloved dog, Kosmoe.

Michael was born in Denver, Colorado, in June 1954, and moved to Southern California in 1957 with his family. He grew up and went to school in La Mirada and Cerritos, California. He spent a brief time in the Army where he was injured. For the last 40+ years he has lived in Lake County.

Michael really enjoyed life! He was playful and joyous in all he did.

He loved going out to restaurants and probably went to every eatery in Lake County. He was a voracious reader, with science fiction being his favorite genre. Michael loved music as well! He volunteered with the Historical Society and the Civil Defense of Lake County. Michael’s most favorite pastime was scouting for new treasures at used bookstores and yard sales. His cozy home reflected this love with many books and found treasures. In the evenings he would relax with candles, incense, a good book and a Don Julio neat.

Please share any pictures and memories you have on Legacy.com. We will be having a Celebration of Life for Michael - Spring or early Summer 2022; it will be posted when scheduled.
