Is the Republican Party now the party of hate?
Is this what they’ve come to? Is the Republican Party now the party of hate? I received an email from the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) that was offering Christmas wrapping paper with the words, “Let’s Go Brandon.”
I had to look this up, the first time I saw it, to find that it was a crowd behind an interview of NASCAR driver, Brandon, that were shouting, “F— Joe Biden”. The interviewer tried to take the high road but now Republicans can show their hate of Biden with “Let’s Go Brandon”. This is the NRCC! One of the main Republican support groups.
Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) put out an edited Animee segment that had a character with Gosar’s super-imposed face killing another character with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s face. Gosar’s explanation of what this was supposed to mean had no relation to this and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (RCA) said Gosar apologized so
“get over it.” Gosar told a conservative radio host that he never apologized and never would.
Rep Lauren Boebert (R-CO) cracked a joke about Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) being a terrorist. Boebert apologized to the Muslim community for the comments but when actually talking to Omar she said, “(Omar) still wanted a public apology, because what I had done wasn’t good enough… So I told Ilhan Omar that she should make a public apology to the American people for her anti-American, antisemitic, anti-police rhetoric.”
Then Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) chimed in to defend Boebert with, “(Omar) hates Israel. She’s pro-Hamas. She’s pro-al-Qaeda. She’s basically an apologist for Islamic terrorists. There is no need to apologize to that woman because she will never stop. She’s bloodthirsty. She wants Republicans completely taken out. She wants Republicans jailed. She does not care about our country. She’s anti-American.” All of these accusations are as true as when Greene told us about the Jews’ space-based lasers. And Kevin McCarthy is once again silent.
The list is long with notable Reps such as Louie Gohmert (RTex.), Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), Madison Cawthorn (R-N.C.), Jim Jordan (R-OH). When Reps such as Liz Cheeney (R-Wy) and Nancy Mace (S.C.) call out this bad behavior they are marginalized. I can only hope that enough nonhaters will vote these people out of office.
