Revised Cannabis Ordinance workshops
LAKEPORT >> The Community Development Department is proposing an update to the Zoning Ordinance to add an Article 73 to Chapter 21 of the Lake Zoning Ordinance to address Commercial Cannabis permitting activities and enforcement. The department's staff will be present to review and highlight proposed changes to the ordinance as it relates to water use and recycling, tree removal, pesticides, peer review of required plans and reports, etc. for commercial cannabis.
Please join us for this opportunity to provide input and feedback on the proposed zoning ordinance.
The County of Lake has previously adopted regulations related to commercial Cannabis permitting and enforcement and has modified those regulations over time to clarify various procedures and expand certain cannabis activities. It is the desire of the county to ensure that as commercial Cannabis activities expand and grow in Lake County, the land use provisions regulating such activities are comprehensive and readily understood.
The County also desires to amend the Lake County zoning ordinance to address all commercial Cannabis permitting activities and enforcement as a newly established article of the zoning ordinance. Community Development Department (Planning, Code Enforcement, and the Building and Safety Divisions) are hosting commercial cannabis workshops to review and highlight the proposed changes by adding Article 73 to Chapter 21 of the zoning ordinance.
