1-man scramble at HVL Niners

-

>> What a gorgeous day we had last Thursday for our 1-Man Scramble, and what great scores we had. Everyone posted a net score in the 30’s and 20’s. Way-To-Go guys! In Flight 1 there was only 1 player, Bruce Brashares posting a gross 32 net

25. In Flight 2 we had 4 players with net scores in the 20’s: Paul Bertlin 28, Joel West 28, Roger Mariani 29, and Mike Henley 29. For Flight 3 it was Marc Humphrey with the lowest net of the day at

22. Excellent Marc. Plus, Ray Hoogendoorn with a 25, Ted Long at 26, David Browning at 28. And Jim Dvorak, Rick Conrad, Bill Surber, and Bill Burnett all at 29. Awesome, 13 players in the net 20’s.

Again, this week we great activity on the Closest to the Pins with 3 on #11 and 4 on #14. And for the 2nd week in a row, no it wasn’t Rick Hamel again, but this time it was Paul Paterson seeking past everyone to take the Closest to the Pins honors on both holes. Will it happen again next week?

What about the points race, well Marc Humphrey is making it a runaway with a 16-point lead over Bill Surber who has been stuck in 2nd place for a few weeks now. But he might not stay there long with Paul Bertlin and Rick Hamel who took over 4th and 5th only 9 and 10 points behind, respectfully. Is Marc going to pull further away from the field? Stay tuned.

The Blind Skin hole was #14 drawn by Paul Peterson this week, No, he only had a par. It was Bruce Brashares, Marc Humphrey, and Jim Dvorak all scoring a net 2. Nice putts guys! Next week the pot grows to $15.

Results were as follows: Flight 1 — Bruce Brashares, 32; Rick Hamel, 36; Pete Gascoigne, Paul Peterson, 37 (tie); Brice Trask, 38

Flight 2— Paul Bertlin, 39; Joel West 38, Roger Mariani, 40; Mike Henley, 39; Rick Erickson, 39 (tie).

We have scheduled another Men’s and Women’s 9’ers Scramble plus Potluck for October 12th. This time each player is to bring something to share with the group. We will have more details shortly along with a signup sheet for Appetizers, Main Dishes, Sides, Salads, Deserts, Drinks, and Papergoods.

Local Rule: If a ball is lost in the rough or fairway and your playing partners withnessed where it landed, you may drop another ball in the location where the group approves.
