David Lindsey Ault passed away Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016, at Sunrise Hospital, in Las Vegas. He was born March 6, 1940, in Bradford, Pa., to Clair H. Ault and Alice May Mix. He attended school in Duke Center, Pa., graduating from Otto Eldred High School. He joined the U.S. Air Force and served in Colorado Springs and ToulRosier­es, France. Upon his discharge, he worked at the Nevada Test Site and then returned to Pennsylvan­ia and worked for Corning Glass. There, he met Carol McCracken and they were married March 25, 1967. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversar­y in March 2017. In 1969, they went west to live in Las Vegas. David earned his bachelors and masters degrees in education at UNLV. He taught at John S. Park Elementary and Tom Williams Elementary. He taught for 27 years and retired in 1999. David loved the Pittsburgh Steelers, Buffalo Bills and Runnin’ Rebels. He loved camping and took his trailer to Utah every summer. They traveled with Senior Tripsters and loved cruising. He belonged to Masonic Lodge Mt. Mariah #39 in Henderson, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonr­y and Journey United Methodist Church, where he served as trustee most of the time. He is survived by his wife, Carol Ault; children, Melissa Thorsen and Jonathan Ault (Jennifer); and six grandchild­ren, Marissa, Kaedence, Matthew, Malloree, Mason and Sawyer. Service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, at Journey United Methodist Church, 6450 Stewart Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89110. There will be refreshmen­ts and fellowship to follow.
