NIGEL ASHURST

-

In loving memory of our dearest Nigel Rustum Ashurst, who passed away Nov. 3, 2016. He was born Aug. 22, 1952, in Superior, Ariz. Before moving to the Las Vegas area in 1990, Nigel grew up in the small mining community of Ajo, Ariz. He had proudly served in the U.S. Army during the end of the Vietnam War. Nigel met Kimberley Sue Wagner in Kingman, Ariz. in 1985 and joined with her in holy matrimony Oct. 10, 1987. Nigel suffered the loss of his only precious son, Miles Vincent Ashurst, Aug. 23, 1996. He leaves behind beloved wife, Kimberley Ashurst; siblings, Nancy (Junior), Yvonne (Paul), Roxi (Craig) and Fred (Mary) of Arizona, and Aaron (Valarie) of Oregon; sisters-in-law, Pam (Terry) of Las Vegas, and Tina (Bruce) of Michigan; and brother-in-law, Jerry of Nevada. He was a jovial kind man, easy to get along with and always having a laugh. Nigel had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to express himself on Facebook and other social media. His huge heart was shielded with an armor of sarcastic humor, pranking and button pushing. He talked a lot about fishing, guns and spending time with the people he loved. Loved to about history and different cultures. Nigel took pride in his career as a medical assistant and lab manager at Cancer and Blood Specialists of Southern Nevada, later to become Comprehensive Cancer. He was adored by coworkers and patients. Nigel felt the same towards them. He spent over 20 years in the medical field. Nigel is now soaring high with Angels in peace joined together with his beloved son Miles. “You will truly be missed. Rest in peace, Nigel.” Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the family.
