Marchessau­lt, Florida bombard Blackhawks

Hat trick a highlight in 7-0 blitz

SUNRISE, Fla. — Jonathan Marchessau­lt scored his first career hat trick, James Reimer stopped 25 shots for his first shutout of the season, and the Florida Panthers routed the Chicago Blackhawks 7-0 on Saturday.

Jonathan Huberdeau had a goal and three assists, and Aleksander Barkov added a goal and two assists. Reilly Smith and Nick Bjugstad also scored to give the Panthers their largest margin of victory since an 8-0 win over Toronto on Feb. 5, 2008.

Marchessau­lt had two goals in a 3-1 victory over Arizona on Thursday. He has nine goals over his past nine games and leads the Panthers with 28.

Corey Crawford stopped 21 shots for the Blackhawks before being lifted at 4:59 of the third period for Scott Darling, who allowed three goals on six shots.

Leading 3-0, the Panthers poured in four goals in the third.

Oilers 4, Avalanche 1 — At Edmonton, Alberta, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Drake Caggiula each had a goal and an assist for Edmonton, which moved into a three-way tie atop the Pacific Division.

Rangers 3, Kings 0 — At Los Angeles, Mats Zuccarello and Mike Zibanejad had two assists each to back Antti Raanta, who had 30 saves, as New York improved to a league-best 27-9-1 on the road.

Canadiens 3, Senators 1 — At Montreal, Andrei Markov had two goals and an assist to back Carey Price, who had 31 saves, as Montreal stayed atop the Atlantic Division.

Canucks 4, Wild 2 — At St. Paul, Minn., Brock Boeser scored in his NHL debut a day after signing with Vancouver, which dealt Minnesota its seventh loss in eight games.

Hurricanes 3, Devils 1 — At Newark, N.J., Jeff Skinner scored the go-ahead goal on a breakaway with 10:26 left as Carolina improved to 7-0-3 in its past 10 games.

Capitals 4, Coyotes 1 — At Washington, Daniel Winnik scored twice to back Braden Holtby, who had 28 saves in Washington’s fifth win in six games.

Predators 7, Sharks 2 — At Nashville, Tenn., Colton Sissons and James Neal both scored twice for Nashville, which dealt San Jose its sixth straight loss.

Blue Jackets 1, Flyers 0 — At Columbus, Ohio, Sergei Bobrovsky had 36 saves in his seventh shutout of the season and league-best 40th win.

Flames 3, Blues 2, OT — At St. Louis, Sean Monahan scored with three seconds left in overtime to back Brian Elliott, who had 29 saves.

Bruins 2, Islanders 1 — At New York, Riley Nash scored his second goal of the game with 4:12 left as Boston snapped a four-game slide.

Sabres 5, Maple Leafs 2 — At Buffalo, N.Y., Jack Eichel had two goals and an assist to back Robin Lehner, who had 32 saves.
