Bell wins NASCAR Truck race at Pocono; Kyle Busch wrecks

Christophe­r Bell grabbed a late lead in the Overton’s 150 and held on to win the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pennsylvan­ia.

Bell passed John Hunter Nemechek and held off Ben Rhodes over the final two laps to win for the fourth time this season. Bell, 22, leads the series in wins, poles, playoff points and top10 finishes in the No. 4 Toyota for Kyle Busch Motorsport­s.

Busch led for the first 31 laps until he made contact with Justin Haley and spun into the outside wall. Haley blamed himself for the wreck.

NASCAR Xfinity: At Newton, Iowa, Pole-sitter Ryan Preece survived a green-whitecheck­ered finish to win the U.S. Cellular 250 at Iowa Speedway for his first career NASCAR Xfinity Series victory.

NHRA: At Sonoma, Calif., Leah Pritchett (Top Fuel), Robert Hight (Funny Car), Drew Skillman (Pro Stock) and Matt Smith (Pro Stock Motorcycle) earned No. 1 qualifying positions for Sunday’s Toyota Sonoma Nationals eliminatio­ns.

IndyCar: At Lexington, Ohio, Will Power won his fifth pole of the season with a lap of 126.672 mph for Sunday’s Honda Indy 200 at the Mid-Ohio Sport Car Course.

Formula One: At Budapest, Hungary, Ferrari got a major boost as Sebastian Vettel took pole position for Sunday’s Hungarian Grand Prix, while teammate Kimi Raikkonen was second.
