Pedes­trian pinned, se­ri­ously hurt in two-ve­hi­cle crash

Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing after a pedes­trian was pinned be­tween two ve­hi­cles Satur­day morn­ing in the west­ern val­ley.

At 10:25 a.m., three ve­hi­cles col­lided near the in­ter­sec­tion of De­catur Boule­vard and Spring Moun­tain Road. As a re­sult, one of the ve­hi­cles struck a pedes­trian, pin­ning the vic­tim be­tween two cars, Metropoli­tan Po­lice Depart­ment Lt. Nate Chio said.

The pedes­trian was taken to Univer­sity Med­i­cal Cen­ter’s trauma unit, Chio said. The pedes­trian had se­ri­ous in­juries but was ex­pected to sur­vive. A driver of one of the ve­hi­cles was also taken to the hos­pi­tal with sur­viv­able in­juries.
