Pedestrian pinned, seriously hurt in two-vehicle crash

Police are investigat­ing after a pedestrian was pinned between two vehicles Saturday morning in the western valley.

At 10:25 a.m., three vehicles collided near the intersecti­on of Decatur Boulevard and Spring Mountain Road. As a result, one of the vehicles struck a pedestrian, pinning the victim between two cars, Metropolit­an Police Department Lt. Nate Chio said.

The pedestrian was taken to University Medical Center’s trauma unit, Chio said. The pedestrian had serious injuries but was expected to survive. A driver of one of the vehicles was also taken to the hospital with survivable injuries.
