Astros 8, Mariners 6 — At Houston, Dallas Keuchel (13-4) threw six solid innings, Carlos Beltran had three hits and two RBIs and Houston dropped its magic number to one for clinching the AL West title. The Astros (90-58) reached 90 wins for the first time since 2004.

Yankees 9, Orioles 3 — At New York, Didi Gregorius and Greg Bird both homered for the second straight game, rookie Jordan Montgomery (8-7) pitched six shutout innings and New York extended its stretch of winning seasons to 25.

Blue Jays 7, Twins 2 — At Minneapoli­s, Marco Estrada (9-8) pitched eight efficient innings, Josh Donaldson homered twice among his four hits and Toronto won for the sixth time in eight games.

White Sox 10, Tigers 4— At Detroit, Matt Davidson and Nicky Delmonico homered, Tim Anderson had four hits and Chicago won its season series with Detroit for the first time since 2008. The White Sox have won 10 of 18 against the Tigers this year.

Red Sox 3, Rays 1 — At St. Petersburg, Fla., Rick Porcello (10-17) took a shutout into the eighth inning, Mookie Betts hit his 22nd home run and Boston won for the eighth time in 10 games.

Angels 2, Rangers 0 — At Anaheim, Calif., Justin Upton hit two home runs, Parker Bridwell (8-2) outpitched Cole Hamels (10-4) and Los Angeles moved up in the AL wild-card race, closing within one game of Minnesota.

National League

Dodgers 3, Nationals 2 — At Washington, Cody Bellinger hit his 38th homer to match the NL single-season record for rookies, and Los Angeles reduced its magic number to win the NL West to five.

Cubs 4, Cardinals 1 — At Chicago, Kyle Hendricks (7-5) pitched effectivel­y into the eighth inning, Addison Russell homered and Chicago won its fifth straight. Albert Almora Jr. had three hits for the Cubs.

Marlins 7, Brewers 4 — At Milwaukee, Derek Dietrich hit a two-run homer, Adam Conley (7-7) pitched into the sixth inning and Miami stopped a six-game slide. Conley won for the first time since Aug. 20.

Mets 7, Braves 3 — At Atlanta, Jacob deGrom (15-9) set a career high in wins, Dominic Smith and Gavin Cecchini each drove in two runs and New York snapped a five-game skid. DeGrom struck out seven in seven innings.

Reds 2, Pirates 1 — At Cincinnati, Sal Romano (5-6) pitched a career-high eight shutout innings, Jesse Winker homered and Cincinnati handed Pittsburgh its fourth straight loss.

Diamondbac­ks 2, Giants 0— At San Francisco, Zack Greinke (17-6) pitched eight innings of two-hit ball and Paul Goldschmid­t hit a two-run homer as Arizona won for the 20th time in 25 games and for the ninth straight time on the road.

Rockies 16, Padres 0 — At Denver, Tyler Anderson (5-5) pitched six innings in his first start since returning from left knee surgery, Charlie Blackmon set an NL season record for RBIs by a leadoff man.

Phillies 5, Athletics 3 — At Philadelph­ia, Jorge Alfaro homered and Philadelph­ia’s relievers pitched six strong innings after a rain delay to help the Phillies improve to 5-14 against the AL this season.
