ERNIE ANTON

Ernie Anton, 68, of Las Vegas, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2017. Ernie was born January 13, 1949, in Carlton, Minnesota, to Elmo and Ruth Anton. He graduated from Carlton High School and joined the U.S. Air Force. Ernie served his country from 1967 to 1971 and was stationed in Thailand. In August 1984, Ernie met the love of his life, Melody Kaye Warren and September 29, 1984, one month after their first date, the couple were wed. The family will celebrate 33 years of marriage Friday, September 29. Ernie was a devoted husband and loving father to his three children. Ernie was a quiet man, but his presence would fill the room when he walked in. He would help anyone in need and loved to ride and work on motorcycles. Over the course of his life, Ernie owned over 145 motorcycles. He was a Maintenance engineer for most of his life until he retired in 2015. Ernie was a member of the Patriot Guard and proud to serve with the men and women who defend and protect our freedom. He was a happy go lucky “Jack of all Trades” and a “Man’s Man.” He enjoyed life and would be more comfortable in a tee shirt and jeans than any thing else. The stories that defined this man are to many to mention suffice it to say that he lived a full life and never worried about what any one else thought as long as he was happy he was good. Ernie is survived by his loving wife, Melody; his daughter, Sammie and her husband, Trent Toltzman of Las Vegas; and sons, Richard and his wife, Teresa Anton of Montana, and Scott Anton. Ernie is also survived by his three grandchildren, Cezanne Warren, Christina Anton and Joshua Anton; sister, Judy and her husband, Donald Vanderwerff; and brother, David and his wife, Lorie Anton all of Minnesota. Funeral service will be at noon Wednesday, September 27, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005. The family will gather at Davis Funeral Home, Rainbow Chapel, 1401 S. Rainbow Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89146 and be escorted to the cemetery by the Patriot guard. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to the American Cancer Society or to Southern Nevada Patriot Guard.
