Bobby Baldwin lists home for $6.25M
Property has its own private park
THE Southern Highlands luxury home of MGM Resorts International executive Bobby Baldwin is on the market, and it has his fingerprints all over it.
Baldwin, president and chief operating officer at Aria Resort, bought the two-story home in 2007 from Unique Custom Homes Las Vegas for $4.5 million. He’s asking $6.25 million for the nearly 12,000-square-foot home on 1.26 acres in the Vintage Valley neighborhood overlooking the Southern Highlands Golf Club.
Baldwin’s Realtor, Frank Napoli II of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, Nevada Properties, said the home has seven bedrooms, eight baths and two flexible rooms.
One room currently was designed as a full gym and the second is a game room with wet bar that overlooks the golf course.
Baldwin has paid more than $3.5 million for upgrades and renovations since he bought the home in 2007,
Napoli said.
“He wanted to make this home his home, and he had a complete remodel done from the day he bought it,” Napoli said. “And, he continued to continuously change the home and modernize it as he lived there. It was an open checkbook to build when it comes to finishes, fixtures and technology. It was only the best in this house.”
The one part of the home Baldwin retained was the travertine stone flooring, Napoli said. He refurbished the staircases and walls and completely remodeled the kitchen, Napoli said. He also changed every light and plumbing fixture and every finish and component in the home.
The upgrades have included Subzero and Miele appliances, custom Kohler fixtures, his-and-hers master baths, a Bocci chandelier, a state-ofthe-art 4K theater with Fendi seating, HD security, Control 4 home automation, home office and wine cellar.
“This is luxury living at its finest with quality finishes held to the highest of standards,” Napoli said. “There was literally no expense spared. Bobby has incredible taste.”
Even though the home was built in 2006, Napoli said Baldwin has made the home relevant to the current era. The kitchen has a concrete base for its countertop that consists of glass giving the large space a modern vibe. Off the kitchen, there is a dining area with a unique design feature, called a “knife’s edge” wall and ceiling, which creates a space that appears to be floating when it’s illuminated.
“It sets the room apart at night and makes it pop,” Napoli said. “It’s very modern.”
The theater room is on the first level by the home’s entrance and is hidden behind dark wood paneling.
Upstairs, the master bedroom has expensive wool carpet and a balcony that looks over the Southern Highlands golf course. It also has two master baths and closets, one with a hidden, climate-controlled mink room.
It has two tankless water heaters in the garage to ensure the home won’t run out of hot water, Napoli said.
Baldwin loved the home for its floor plan and its two combined lots with its great views, Napoli said. Pine trees are just outside the fence and the golf course is three fairways wide in that location.
“You feel like you’re on your own with a large piece of land,” Napoli said.
Baldwin combined two lots to create a private park, but there’s enough space on the 1.26 acres to build a guest house or garage on the site, Napoli said.
“The way the home sits on one lot and has the other lot converted to a private park next door was ultimately to create his own privacy,” Napoli said.
“You can barely see other homes from this home — no one can see inside. If you shop for a piece of land now in Las Vegas, good luck with finding this much privacy,” he said.
The park that is accessed by floating travertine stairs over a fountain and includes walking paths, and a fire pit, Zen garden with a statue of Buddha and an observation deck that overlooks the golf course.
Even the infinity pool was remodeled recently with new equipment and finishes, Napoli said.
The home has a four-car garage and an elevator to connect the two stories. Napoli said Baldwin put the home on the market because it’s a larger than he needs. He plans to relocate to a luxury home in The Ridges in Summerlin.
One of the reasons why the home is so appealing is because of the person who owns it, Napoli said.
“He’s a fantastic designer and has taken his design skills and utilized them in his own home,” Napoli said. “You will see things you won’t see before unless you’re in a commercial building. There’s no expense spared in here.”
