Barbara Lee Gialketsis, 79, of Las Vegas, the only daughter of the late William and Virginia Cosulas, passed away locally Monday, October 16, 2017. Barbara was born in 1938, in San Gabriel, California. She and her parents moved to Las Vegas in the late 1940’s. Barbara attended Las Vegas High School, where she made many lifelong friendship­s. She later graduated from Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy in La Canada, California. For much of her adult life, until recently, Barbara worked in the family business, Bonanza Beverage Company. Barbara was a faithful member of St. John The Baptist Greek Orthodox Church from its founding in Las Vegas. Over the decades, she served the church with dedication across many activities and organizati­ons, Sunday School, Youth Group Advisor, The Panagia Chapter of the Philoptoch­os Society, The Adult Study Group, Pan-Orthodox Retreats, The Annual Greek Food Festival, Senior Forerunner­s and much more. She loved the Church and was much loved by her fellow Orthodox Christians. Barbara is survived by her sons, William Gialketsis and Stephen Gialketsis, daughter, Julie Gialketsis, and their families and loved ones; grandchild­ren, Angela, Michael, Sarah, Reed and George; two greatgrand­children; her brother, William Cosulas Jr.; and many cousins and their families. She is also survived by former husband, William "Babe" Gialketsis, and his stepsons, Ron Woodbury and David "Woody" Woodbury, and their families and relatives. Final arrangemen­ts are under the care of Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Visitation will be 4-5 p.m. Friday, October 27, with Trisagion (Memorial) service following. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 28, all at St. John The Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, 5300 S. El Camino Road, Las Vegas, NV 89118. Makaria (Mercy Meal) following next door in Panos Community Hall. Reverend Father John Hondros will be the presiding priest for the services.
