Tech 35, OT — At Lubbock, Texas, third-string quarterbac­k Skylar Thompson dived for a 1-yard touchdown with 42 seconds left in regulation, threw a tying 2-point conversion pass and hit Byron Pringle with a winning 8-yard TD strike in overtime for the Wildcats (5-4, 3-3). Thompson, a redshirt freshman, replaced Alex Delton after a helmet-to-helmet hit in the first half. The Red Raiders (4-5, 1-5) trailed 17-14 at halftime. ■ No. 10 Texas Christian 24, Texas7— At Fort Worth, Texas, Kyle Hicks ran for two touchdowns for the Horned Frogs (8-1, 5-1), who iced the outcome on Darius Anderson’s 31-yard TD run on fourth-and-1 inside the final four minutes. Anderson finished with 99 yards on the ground. The Longhorns (4-5, 3-3) mustered 263 yards of offense in the most decisive loss of coach Tom Herman’s first season. ■ West Virginia 20, No. 14 Iowa State 16 — At Morgantown, W.Va., Will Grier was 20 of 25 passing for 316 yards and two touchdowns, and Justin Crawford ran for 102 yards for the Mountainee­rs (6-3, 4-2), who bolted to a 20-0 lead in the first half. Garrett Owens kicked three field goals for the Cyclones (6-3, 4-2), whose final drive ended on a fourthdown pass breakup at their 37 in their first home loss of the year.

■ Baylor 38, Kansas 9 — At Lawrence, Kan., freshman Charlie Brewer threw for 315 yards and three touchdowns in his first start for the Bears (1-8, 1-5), who totaled 455 yards of offense. Denzel Mims had five catches for 122 yards for Baylor, which notched its first win under coach Matt Rhule and its eighth straight over the Jayhawks (1-8, 0-6), who failed to score a TD for the third time in four games.
