Bon­nie L. Leav­itt, of North Las Ve­gas, passed away Wed­nes­day, Novem­ber 1, 2017, at her home she loved for 62 years. She had turn 91 years young the day be­fore, Oc­to­ber 31, 2017. Bon­nie was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Nathaniel and Frances Wig­gins. Her sis­ter, Clau­dene, was happy to have a lit­tle sis­ter join the fam­ily. Bon­nie grad­u­ated from Put­nam City High School and at­tended Oklahoma A and M. Bon­nie moved to Las Ve­gas in 1954 and mar­ried Roy Leav­itt. They were mar­ried for 12 years. In De­cem­ber 1955, Bon­nie be­came one of the first char­ter mem­bers of Grif­fith United Methodist Church and when it merged with Her­itage United Methodist, she be­came a char­ter mem­ber of the present Jour­ney United Methodist Church. She was also a mem­ber of United Methodist Women. Bon­nie was in­stru­men­tal in start­ing the Las Ve­gas Com­mu­nity Choir. She was of­fice sec­re­tary for Team­sters Union Lo­cal 631 for 33 years and re­tired in 1989. Bon­nie was pre­ceded in death by her par­ents; and her sis­ter, Clau­dene (Harold) Knight. She is sur­vived by her neph­ews, James (Ann) and Richard (Kathy) Knight; her niece, Donna Kay Knight; her great-nephew, Gary; great-nieces, Jamie, Ash­ley and Cary; and four great-great-nieces. Ser­vice will be at 11 a.m. Tues­day, Novem­ber 21, at Jour­ney United Methodist Church, 6450 E. Ste­wart Ave., Las Ve­gas, NV 89110.
