Theresa Savelio, 78, passed away Satur­day morn­ing, Oc­to­ber 28, 2017, at home in Hen­der­son, sur­rounded by her chil­dren. Theresa was born Oc­to­ber 16, 1939, in Pago Pago, Amer­i­can Samoa, to Paramount Chief "Mauga

Julio Ta­ufa’asau and Maselina Afitu." Theresa’s great­est achieve­ments have been in the lives of her fam­ily and her faith. Her­self be­ing raised by par­ents who were Cat­e­chists, she in­stilled in her chil­dren a de­vo­tion to re­li­gion and fam­ily es­pe­cially pray­ing the Rosary to the Blessed Mother. She was known to many as a "prayer war­rior" whose essence and com­pas­sion for peo­ple was as pure and kind as the saint Mother Theresa of Cal­cutta. She leaves all her chil­dren to be re­united with her husband, Asi­ata "Niko" Filipo Savelio; son, Do­minic Savelio; grand­chil­dren, Rachel Grigsby, Greg­gory Savelio and Baby Jax Fran­cis Pear­son-Savelio in Heaven. Theresa is sur­vived by seven of her eight chil­dren; 18 grand­chil­dren; seven great­grand­chil­dren; and sev­eral neph­ews and nieces that considered her as their mother. View­ing will be 3-7 p.m. Fri­day, Novem­ber 17, at 5450 Stephanie St., Las Ve­gas, NV 89122. Funeral Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Satur­day, Novem­ber 18, at St. Peter the Apos­tle Ro­man Catholic Church, 204 S. Boul­der High­way, Hen­der­son, NV 89015. Af­ter Mass there will be a re­cep­tion in the church hall lo­cated next to the church.
