Theresa Savelio, 78, passed away Saturday morning, October 28, 2017, at home in Henderson, surrounded by her children. Theresa was born October 16, 1939, in Pago Pago, American Samoa, to Paramount Chief "Mauga

Julio Taufa’asau and Maselina Afitu." Theresa’s greatest achievemen­ts have been in the lives of her family and her faith. Herself being raised by parents who were Catechists, she instilled in her children a devotion to religion and family especially praying the Rosary to the Blessed Mother. She was known to many as a "prayer warrior" whose essence and compassion for people was as pure and kind as the saint Mother Theresa of Calcutta. She leaves all her children to be reunited with her husband, Asiata "Niko" Filipo Savelio; son, Dominic Savelio; grandchild­ren, Rachel Grigsby, Greggory Savelio and Baby Jax Francis Pearson-Savelio in Heaven. Theresa is survived by seven of her eight children; 18 grandchild­ren; seven greatgrand­children; and several nephews and nieces that considered her as their mother. Viewing will be 3-7 p.m. Friday, November 17, at 5450 Stephanie St., Las Vegas, NV 89122. Funeral Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, November 18, at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 204 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015. After Mass there will be a reception in the church hall located next to the church.
