■ No. 8 Ohio State 52, Illinois 14— At Columbus, Ohio, J.T. Barrett threw for two touchdowns and ran for another while becoming the career rushing leader among quarterbacks for the Buckeyes (9-2, 7-1) with 3,070 yards. Ohio State scored on its first six possessions, led 28-0 after the first quarter and held the Illini (2-9, 0-9) to 105 yards of offense and five first downs. ■ No. 13 Penn State 56,
Nebraska 44 — At State College, Pa., Saquon Barkley broke the career touchdown record for the Nittany Lions (9-2, 6-2) with three scores and had 208 of his 224 yards of offense in the first half. Barkley threw a pass for the record 39th TD. Tanner Lee returned from concussion protocol to throw for 399 yards and three TDs for the Cornhuskers (4-7, 3-5), who trailed 42-10 at halftime. ■ No. 22 Michigan State 17, Maryland 7 — At East Lansing, Mich., L.J. Scott ran for 147 yards and a touchdown for the Spartans (83, 6-2), who overcame rainy, snowy conditions that limited quarterback Brian Lewerke to 2-for-14 passing for 20 yards. Max Bortenschlager was 13 of 25 passing for 121 yards for the Terrapins (4-7, 2-6). ■ Northwestern 39, Minnesota 0— Evanston, Ill., Clayton Thorson threw for three touchdowns, Justin Jackson ran for 166 yards, and cornerback Montre Hartage had an interception and a fumble recovery to set up scores for the Wildcats (8-3, 6-2). Demry Croft was 2 of 11 passing for 43 yards with three interceptions for the Golden Gophers (5-6, 2-6), who committed five turnovers. ■ Indiana 41, Rutgers 0 — At Bloomington, Ind., Richard Lagow threw for two touchdowns, and Morgan Ellison ran for two scores for the Hoosiers (5-6, 2-6), who weathered a 1-hour, 47-minute
lightning delay in the third quarter in their first Senior Day shutout since 1958. The Scarlet Knights (4-7, 3-5) have lost by 20 or more points four times this season.
■ Purdue 24, Iowa 15 — At Iowa City, Iowa, Elijah Sindelar threw for 229 yards and three touchdowns, two to Anthony Mahoungou, who had seven catches for 135 yards for the Boilermakers (5-6, 3-5), who won their first league road game this season. Nate Stanley threw for 176 yards for the Hawkeyes (6-5, 3-5) and was sacked six times.
