MARTHA KIBLER

Martha Ann Kibler passed away peacefully November 7, 2017, at home, in Las Vegas, surrounded by family. Martha was born February 1, 1935, in Springfield, Ohio, the only child of Isaac Newton and Lucy Hamilton. She was united in marriage to Vincent Walter Kibler July 30, 1955, in Galion, Ohio. He preceded her in death September 21, 2015. They were married for 60 wonderful years. Martha received her Registered Nursing degree from St. Ann’s School of Nursing in Columbus, Ohio. In 1978, she received a Bachelor’s of Nursing degree and later went on to receive a Masters degree in Psychology. Over the years, she worked as an obstetrics, pediatric, school and summer camp nurse. She finished her career working as an addiction counselor in Las Vegas. Martha had many hobbies she loved including gardening, sewing, painting and crafts. Her favorite was playing her African drum “The Beast” at drum circles. She enjoyed her monthly “lunch with the ladies” and loved showing her out of town visitors around Las Vegas. She is survived by her five children and spouses, Susan (David) Backholer, David Kibler, Stephanie Debold, Scott Douglas (Sandy) Kibler and Diane (David) Statzer; seven grandchildren and spouses, Dana (Jill) Paulus, Jacqueline (Joe) Gauder, Joseph Winner, Elizabeth Kibler, Rebecca Kibler, Vincent Statzer and Patrick Statzer; and four great-grandchildren, Cali Mars, Maynard Paulus, Callen Gauder and Cecelia Gauder. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Lorraine Caris and Juanita Kibler; brother-in-law, William Kibler; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her two “furry” children, Billy and Queenie. Celebration of life for Martha will be on her birthday, Thursday, February 1, in Las Vegas. Details will be announced in the newspaper Jan. 21, and on her Facebook page. The family asks that any memorial contributions be made to the RSPCA, the Nevada SPCA No-Kill Animal Shelter or Music4Life.
