ANN PLOTIN

Ann Carolan Plotin passed away peacefully Friday, January 8, 2018, at Nathan Adelson Hospice, after a lengthy illness. She was born September 8, 1942, in Bailieborough, Ireland. As a young woman, she traveled to New York City in June 1981 for a job opportunity as a nannie, where she stayed with her brother, Mathias, and his wife, Ceclia. After a few years, she headed west to California, where she met her husband, Lawrence Plotin, and married in 1987. Together, they enjoyed sailing on their boat and traveling to many destinations across the globe. In 1990, they retired and decided to move to Las Vegas. Her beloved Larry passed away in 2008. She was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Annie Carolan of Ireland; sister, Greta Smith, and brother, Edmund Carolan, both of England. Ann is survived by her brother, Mathias Carolan of New York City; sister, Mary Brady of Ireland; brother, Patrick Carolan of Ireland; and sisterin-law, Selma Diamond of California; and all her many nieces and nephews. Ann will be profoundly missed by her neighbor and close friend, of 27 years, Susie Block. When Ann’s health started to deteriorate several years ago, the two friends moved to an assisted-living facility together to look after one another. Good friends here and abroad will sadly miss her always smiling face. She is now reunited with her Larry. Special thanks to Nathan Adelson Hospice for their compassionate care in her final days and all the doctors and nurses who have given such wonderful care in the past years. Ann’s final resting place will be in her homeland of Ireland.
