UNLV’s 12-run inning keys seventh baseball win in row

Bryson Stott and Nick Rodriguez had consecutiv­e two-run hits in UNLV’s 12-run seventh inning, and each totaled four RBIs as the Rebels rallied for a 19-15 win over Air Force in a Mountain West baseball game Saturday in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Trailing 7-3 entering the seventh, 21st-ranked UNLV (18-2, 5-0) erupted for seven consecutiv­e run-scoring hits, all with two outs, en route to its seventh straight win.

Rodriguez and Jack-Thomas Wold each went 4-for-5 for the Rebels, who used 10 pitchers. Nic Ready went 4-for6 with two home runs, a triple and five RBIs for the Falcons (6-12, 1-4).

■ UNLV softball: At Albuquerqu­e, N.M., Devynn Marshall and Kiley Harrison each had a pinch-hit RBI single in the Rebels’ six-run seventh inning, backing a three-hit, seven-strikeout shutout by Charlie Masterson (5-3), as UNLV (18-8, 1-1 Mountain West) surged to a 6-0 win over New Mexico (7-20, 1-1).

■ CSN softball: At Lady Coyote Field, Haleigh Olive hit a grand slam, and Taryn Southerlan­d had a home run, a double and four RBIs to lead College of Southern Nevada (11-11, 8-4) to an 11-4 win over Utah State Eastern (11-11, 6-6) in the first game of a Scenic West Athletic Conference doublehead­er. The Golden Eagles won the second game 10-6.

■ CSN baseball: At Price, Utah, Joey O’Brien went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs to lead No. 2-ranked College of Southern Nevada (24-6, 6-2) to a 5-1 win over Utah State Eastern (13-11, 8-4) in the second game of a SWAC doublehead­er. The Golden Eagles won the opener 4-3.
