Phyllis B. Talbert, 90, departed this earthly realm March 28, 2018, in Henderson. She was born July 2, 1927, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvan­ia, to Donald J. Bleifuss and Catherine L. Bleifuss, nee Stevens. She received her B.A. from Stanford University in 1948, her M.B.A from San Diego State University in 1979 and was a Certified Public Accountant in California and Texas. She led an interestin­g life, having lived in Pennsylvan­ia, northern, central and southern California, Nevada twice, Texas twice, and Washington. In earlier years, she was an active member in Mensa and the American Guild of Organists. One of her favorite activities was singing in church choirs which she started at age 15 and retired at 83. During her first time living in southern Nevada, she was the President of Mesquite Club in 1968-1969, the President of the Nevada Federation of Women’s Clubs in 1970-1971, Treasurer of the Las Vegas Symphony Society and a member of the Republican Central Committee. She lived in Sun City Anthem the last five years of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Cynthia Johnston; son, Bruce A. Smith; and husband, Lee J. Talbert. She is survived by her son, Donald C. Smith; her grandchild­ren, Courtney L. Knight and Brett A. Smith; and great-grandchild­ren, Summer and Orion Knight. The family of Phyllis wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Nathan Adelson Hospice for their assistance and support in allowing her to pass in comfort and with dignity. Services will be private.
