American League

■ Astros 6, Rangers 1 — At Houston, Charlie Morton (5-0) allowed one run on four hits and no walks and struck out 14 over seven innings to win his eighth straight decision, and Evan Gattis, Brian McCann and Carlos Correa homered for Houston.

■ Orioles 6-3, Rays 3-10 — At Baltimore, Brad Miller and C.J. Cron homered off former Tampa Bay teammate Alex Cobb (0-5) as the Rays gained a split. In the opener, Jonathan Schoop homered twice to back David Hess (1-0), who worked six innings to win his major league debut.

■ Tigers 4-5, Mariners 3-9 — At Detroit, Robinson Cano hit a three-run homer and Ryon Healy a two-run shot to help Seattle gain a split. In the opener, center fielder JaCoby Jones’ stellar catch in the ninth preserved Detroit’s win.

■ Red Sox 5, Blue Jays 2 — At Toronto, David Price (3-4) pitched 5 1/3 innings to win his first start since being diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome, and Hanley Ramirez hit a two-run homer for Boston.

■ Twins 5, Angels 3 — At Anaheim, Calif., Mitch Garver hit a go-ahead RBI double in the 12th inning for Minnesota. Los Angeles left 16 runners on base, including two in each of the final two innings.

■ Indians 6, Royals 2 — At Cleveland, Francisco Lindor homered twice, doubled twice and scored four runs to back Mike Clevinger (3-0), who allowed two runs over 7 2/3 innings.

National League

■ Nationals 2, Diamondbac­ks 1 — At Phoenix, Stephen Strasburg (5-3) allowed one run and struck out nine over 6 2/3 innings for Washington, which stranded 11 baserunner­s but won its third straight and dealt Washington its fourth loss in a row.

■ Reds 5, Dodgers 3 — At Los Angeles, Scott Schebler hit a go-ahead three-run homer in Cincinnati’s four-run fifth as the Reds won their fifth straight. Los Angeles starter Ross Stripling struck out seven in 5 1/3 innings.

■ Pirates 6, Giants 5 — At Pittsburgh, Gregory Polanco and Francisco Cervelli homered for Pittsburgh, which cashed in on a sloppy eighth inning by former Pirates closer Tony Watson (1-2) to win its fifth straight.

■ Rockies 4, Brewers 0 — At Denver, Trevor Story homered twice and doubled to drive in all of Colorado’s runs, and Kyle Freeland (3-4) held Milwaukee to four hits and struck out six in 6 1/3 shutout innings.

■ Padres 2, Cardinals 1 — At San Diego, Eric Hosmer hit a walk-off RBI double with no outs in the 13th inning. Starters Tyson Ross and Michael Wacha each allowed one run on three hits over six innings.

■ Braves 10, Marlins 5 — At Miami, Freddie Freeman hit a two-run homer and a solo shot for Atlanta, and Jose Bautista atoned for a costly error with his first home run for the Braves.

■ Cubs 8, White Sox 4 — At Chicago, Willson Contreras hit his third homer in two games and totaled three RBIs, and Anthony Rizzo hit a three-run homer in a four-run first off James Shields (1-4) at rainy, chilly Wrigley Field.
