Colts coach not unnerved that Luck hasn’t resumed throwing

-

Quarterback Andrew Luck still is not throwing, but first-year Indianapolis Colts coach Frank Reich is not concerned.

Reich said Luck is doing “exceptionally well” in his rehabilitation from shoulder surgery that forced him to miss the 2017 season.

Luck has not thrown a pass since the 2016 regular-season finale, and general manager Chris Ballard said last month he doesn’t expect the 2012 No. 1 draft pick to begin throwing until training camp.

Luck, 28, admitted he “pushed a little too hard” in his attempt to return to action after having surgery to repair a torn labrum Jan. 15, 2017.

■ Giants: Coach Pat Shurmur said he wants safety Landon Collins to stop speaking publicly about teammate Ereck Flowers being shifted from left to right offensive tackle. Flowers has avoided the team’s offseason program because he is upset with the move.

■ Patriots: Quarterback Tom Brady posted a workout video of himself on Instagram in which he states his desire to reach 1,000 yards rushing. He is at 968 on 557 carries — the most attempts in NFL history for any player with fewer than 1,000 yards.

■ Lions: Running back Ameer Abdullah, who had only two games last season with at least 20 carries and was limited to 11 or fewer attempts eight times, voiced discontent with how he was utilized. Detroit ranked last in the NFL in rushing in 2017.

■ Seahawks: Quarterback Stephen Morris, signed last month after being on four NFL rosters since 2014, was waived, leaving Austin Davis and rookie Alex McGough as the lone backups behind starter Russell Wilson.
