■ Angels 11, Yankees 4 — At New York, Mike Trout homered and doubled three times in his first five-hit game in the majors for Los Angeles, going deep for the third straight game and setting a career best with 11 total bases.

■ Rays 5, Orioles 1 — At St. Petersburg, Fla., Ryne Stanek, Anthony Banda (1-0) and Chaz Roe combined on a three-hitter for Tampa Bay. Banda entered with two outs in the second and struck out seven over 6 1/3 innings.

■ Rangers 4, Royals 3 — At Arlington, Texas, Shin-Soo Choo became the majors’ leading home run hitter born in Asia, hitting a walk-off drive in the 10th to pass Hideki Matsui with his 176th homer.

■ Indians 8, Astros 6 — At Cleveland, Yonder Alonso, Jason Kipnis and Edwin Encarnacio­n each hit a two-run homer for Cleveland. Jose Altuve had a two-run homer among his four hits for Houston.

■ White Sox 8, Tigers 4 — At Detroit, Tim Anderson hit a solo home run and a three-run shot for Chicago, which went ahead to stay on Daniel Palka’s leadoff homer in the sixth.

National League

■ Nationals 4, Marlins 1 — At Miami, Mark Reynolds hit a tiebreakin­g home run leading off the ninth for Washington. WeiYin Chen took a two-hit shutout into the eighth for Miami before allowing a tying homer to Wilmer Difo.

■ Cardinals 4, Pirates 1 — At Pittsburgh, rookie Jack Flaherty (2-1) held Pittsburgh to one run — a first-inning homer by Starling Marte — on four hits over six innings, and Matt Carpenter hit a leadoff home run.

■ Reds 6, Rockies 5 — At Denver, second baseman Scooter Gennett had five hits, including a home run, and started a game-ending, bases-loaded double play on a lineout by David Dahl, who had three hits.

■ Giants 5, Cubs 4 — At Chicago, Brandon Crawford hit a two-run homer, and Brandon Belt also drove in two runs for San Francisco, which overcame deficits of 2-0 and 3-2 to halt a three-game skid.

■ Brewers 17, Mets 6 — At Milwaukee, Christian Yelich had three hits, drove in three runs and scored three times for NL Central-leading Milwaukee, and Erik Kratz homered in his Brewers debut.

■ Padres 7, Dodgers 5 — At Los Angeles, Christian Villanueva hit a tying two-run homer in the sixth and a solo shot in the eighth for San Diego, which halted Los Angeles’ three-game win streak.

■ Red Sox 8, Braves 6 — At Boston, Andrew Benintendi homered and drove in three runs for Boston, which celebrated Dustin Pedroia’s return with its sixth win in seven games. Pedroia went 0-for-4 with a walk in his first game since offseason knee surgery.

■ Athletics 3, Diamondbac­ks 0 — At Oakland, Calif., Daniel Mengden (5-4) pitched a two-hitter with no walks for his second career shutout, and Matt Olson, Matt Joyce and Chad Pinder homered.
