Frazier, Smith key 51s’ rally past Aces

Todd Frazier delivered a tying, two-run single in the seventh inning and Dominic Smith followed with a go-ahead single as the Las Vegas 51s rallied past the Reno Aces 5-4 in a Pacific Coast League game Saturday night at Greater Nevada Field in Reno.

The 51s (23-32) and Aces (23-32) had traded leads, with Reno striking first for a run in the first, Las Vegas answering back with Zach Borenstein’s two-run homer in the second and Reno adding runs again in the third and fifth to retake the lead.

Las Vegas starter Corey Oswalt, who was making his first start since coming off the disabled list, left the game in the fourth inning with the trainer. He exited with the bases loaded, but Kevin McGowan was able to get the last out of the inning.

McGowan gave up one run in 2 1/3 innings. Eric Hanhold, making his second Triple-A appearance, threw two scoreless innings and Jacob Rhame picked up his second save in as many nights.
