■ Red Sox 11, Yankees 0 — At New York, Chris Sale (8-4) blanked New York on one hit and struck out 11 over seven innings, and Rafael Devers went 5-for-5 with a first-inning grand slam as Boston took back the majors’ best record.

■ Rays 5, Astros 2 — At St. Petersburg, Fla., Wilson Ramos drove in four runs over the first two innings off Justin Verlander (9-4), and Tampa Bay held an opponent to two runs for fewer for the fifth game in a row.

■ Rangers 13, White Sox 4 — At Arlington, Texas, Bishop Gorman product Joey Gallo homered to back Bartolo Colon (5-5), who notched his 245th win, matching Dennis Martinez for the most by a Latin American pitcher.

■ Blue Jays 4, Tigers 3 — At Toronto, Justin Smoak led off the Toronto ninth with a walk-off home run, and Randal Grichuk hit a two-run shot for the Blue Jays, who dealt the Tigers their 11th straight loss.

■ Mariners 6, Royals 4 — At Seattle, Ryon Healy had four hits, including a home run, and drove in three runs for Seattle, which overcame a 3-0 first-inning deficit for its sixth straight win.

■ Athletics 7, Indians 2 — At Oakland, Calif., Matt Olson, Dustin Fowler and Josh Phegley homered to back Edwin Jackson (1-0), who held Cleveland to two runs on two hits over 6⅔ innings.

■ Phillies 3, Nationals 2 — At Philadelph­ia, Odubel Herrera homered, and Jorge Alfaro and Aaron Altherr each added an RBI double for Philadelph­ia, which lost starter Vince Velasquez to a right forearm contusion on a comebacker.

■ Rockies 3, Dodgers 1 — At Los Angeles, Ian Desmond homered to back German Marquez (6-8), who held Los Angeles to one run on two hits and no walks and struck out nine over eight innings after entering with a 5.53 ERA.

■ Braves 11, Cardinals 4 — At St. Louis, Nick Markakis hit a grand slam to back Max Fried (1-2), who shut out St. Louis and struck out 11 over 6⅔ innings on the day he was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett.

■ Marlins 5, Mets 2 — At Miami, Brian Anderson hit a two-run homer off Jacob deGrom (5-4) to back Pablo Lopez (1-0), who allowed two runs over six innings in his major league debut.

■ Giants 7, Diamondbac­ks 0 — At Phoenix, Brandon Crawford, Andrew McCutchen and Joe Panik homered to back rookie Dereck Rodriguez (3-1), who allowed six hits over 6⅓ shutout innings.

■ Padres 4, Pirates 3 — At San Diego, Wil Myers hit a solo home run and a tworun double to back rookie Joey Lucchesi (4-3), who pitched five shutout innings in his first win since April 28.
