Beverly Ann Pinjuv (nee Freeland), 89, passed away July 13, 2018, in her home, in Las Vegas, surrounded by her family. Beverly was born January 7, 1929, in Ipswich, Massachuse­tts, to the late Harriet Collet (nee Moreland) Freeland and the late Frank Adams Freeland. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Larry Freeland and John Freeland; sisters, Louise Jones and Judith Nichols; son-in-law, Michal Cunningham; grandson, Patrick McNulty; and great-grandson, Matthew Cunningham. Beverly graduated from Gloucester High School in 1946. One of her ambitions was to travel to Nevada, and, in 1950, she made the move to Las Vegas. It was in Las Vegas she met and married her husband, of almost 66 years, F. Mike Pinjuv. Beverly and Mike are parents to nine children, son, Michael (Mikie) Pinjuv, and daughters, Patricia (Attila) Dorogi, Karen Pinjuv, Janet (John) Taylor, Susan Pinjuv, Judy (James) Tawatao, Barbara (Jared) Pinjuv-Peters, Marsha (James) Cunningham-Whitehead and Lisa (William) Pridmore. Beverly is survived by her husband, Mike Pinjuv; brother, George “Ned” Freeland; grandchild­ren, Jennifer Pinjuv-Webb, Angelina and Tara Dorogi, Kyle (Mikaela) Cunningham, Kaylee and Kimi Whitehead, Brooke and Justin Peters, Megan Pridmore, and Braxon and Breann Tawatao; and greatgrand­son, Jaron Webb. Beverly was truly a working wife and mother. She retired after many years working for DeLuca Importing Company while caring for her family. She was passionate about helping various community organizati­ons including Las Vegas Children’s Service Guild, Opportunit­y Village and as a Catholic school volunteer. She was a proud member of Beta Sigma Phi for more than 50 years. She was a member and volunteer at Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church. Beverly’s favorite at home activities included reading, needlepoin­t and crochet. Her beautiful baby blankets have warmed many children through the years. Beverly always welcomed every child into her home with open arms and a kind smile. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Monday, July 23, at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., Las Vegas, NV 89101. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, at Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church, 3036 Alta Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89107. Burial following at Woodlawn Cemetery, 1500 Las Vegas Blvd., N., Las Vegas, NV 89101.
