Public officials’ retirement packages

Rossi Ralenkotte­r

Rossi Ralenkotte­r has served as the CEO of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority since 2004 and has worked for the organizati­on since 1973. Details of his retirement package have not yet been determined. According to the Nevada PERS retirement package, Ralenkotte­r could be eligible for at least $400,000, as well as an undetermin­ed amount in unused vacation and sick time.

Pat Mulroy

Between 1989 and early 2014, Pat Mulroy served as general manager of both the Las Vegas Valley Water District and the Southern Nevada Water Authority. Mulroy retired in March 2014. Her separation package included $176,709 in severance money, a $233,453 disability insurance buyback, $44,866 in unused vacation pay, $2,377 in unused personal leave pay and $1,698 in holiday pay.

Don Burnette

Former Clark County Manager Don Burnette, retired in late 2016. Burnette was appointed county manager in 2011 but had worked for the county since 1990. His retirement package included severance payment of $61,118, unused sick time of $264,328 and unused vacation time of $31,812.

Mark Calhoun

Former Henderson City Manager Mark Calhoun served between April 2009 and May 2012. He had a base salary of $225,000 when he left and was under a 2012 employment agreement.

Betsy Fretwell

Former Las Vegas City Manager Betsy Fretwell retired in mid-2017. She joined the city in 2000 and became city manager in 2009. Her retirement package was governed by city policy of 15 weeks of pay for employees with 10 to 19 years of service. When Fretwell left, she had an annual salary of $263,501. Her retirement package also included $8,108 of unused vacation time.

Robert Murnane

Former Henderson City Manager Robert Murnane, who served from August 2015 through February, did not receive a separation package. His annual salary at the time of his retirement was $235,406.
