TANYA SEATON, R.D.H.
1944-2018 Tanya Mlynarczyk Seaton, R.D.H. passed away peacefully and painlessly Saturday, July 14, 2018, following a year-long battle with metastatic cancer. Tanya was preceded in death by her father, Ed Mlynarczyk; mother, Stephanie Smetanka Mlynarczyk; sister, Carole Ann Reid; and brother, Greg Mlynarczyk, DDS. She is survived by her sons, Mark Seaton and Matthew Seaton; daughter-in-law, Allison; grandchildren, Avery, Harper and Owen; sister-in-law, Laura Mlynarczyk; nieces, Stephanie Reid General, Summer Nelson, Nadra Mlynarczyk, Tasha Alpert and Diana Mlynarczyk; and nephews, Ben Reid, Ryan Ao, Jeffrey and Steven Mlynarczyk; She is also survived by her stepmother, Florence Mlynarczyk; and stepbrother, Michael Mlynarczyk, and his wife, Shirley. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Tanya moved to Las Vegas as a child, and grew up on her father’s homesteaded property on the outskirts of Las Vegas, playing with her siblings and running with the neighborhood gang in the desert. They watched the wild horses, fed the burros, constructed fortresses and, most of all, laughed together. Tanya attended Sunrise Acres Elementary (K-8), then four years at the original Las Vegas High School. She then went on to Idaho State, graduating in 1965 with a degree in Dental Hygiene. Tanya spent many years as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) in Las Vegas and then San Francisco, California while her then-husband, Dan Seaton, attended law school. She returned to Las Vegas to raise her sons and joined the Department of Veterans Affairs, where she continued her career as an RDH for another 22 years, retiring in 2010. She developed a strong bond with “my veterans,” as she called them, and the respect and affection was mutual. A longtime member of the Mormon church, Tanya was a dedicated servant of her Heavenly Father, her fellow church members, her friends and neighbors and her family. She was well-known for her unwavering positivity, commitment to compassionate service both religious and secular and her own inimitable “personal standard” of hair, makeup, outfits and accessories (preferably, with plenty of orange). She will be missed. A memorial celebrating Tanya’s life will be Saturday, September 22, at The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Wigwam Parkway and Pebble Road in Henderson.
