CAROLYN "SUE" LLOYD

-

Carolyn Sue Lloyd, age 76, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at her Grand Ledge, Michigan residence, surrounded by the love of family and friends. Referred to as “Sue,” she was born March 31, 1942, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, to Retha Mae and Adrian Johnson. Sue was a graduate of Malvern High School and Hendricks College in Arkansas, where she received her BA Degree. In 1964, Sue moved to Las Vegas to start her career. It was there that she met the love of her life, Clifford P. Lloyd, and they married February 21, 1965. In 1966, she gave birth to her only child, Douglas Richard Lloyd, who was the apple of her eye. Sue resided in Las Vegas for over 50 years and had a successful career as a social worker. After retirement, she and Cliff traveled to Michigan routinely to visit their son, Doug, grandsons, Matthew and Nicolas Lloyd, and daughter-in-law, A. Mina Lloyd. In 2013, after the death of her husband and due to a diagnosis of Chronic Progressive MS years before, Sue moved to Michigan to be close to her son, while having to leave behind her beloved sister-in-law, JoAnne Lloyd. The Lloyd Boy’s and Mina brought much joy and excitement into her life, while also being able to coordinate her care. Sue thrived after moving to Michigan. She was a proud grandmother, loved being here to watch her grandsons excel in varsity sports for the Grand Ledge Comets, graduate high school with honors and start college at MSU. She became a big Spartan fan! Special thanks to the staff and friends she made at Fairview AFC, who helped improve the quality of her life over the past five years and helped her pass with dignity. A private memorial service will be scheduled at Fairview Adult Foster Care, date to be determined. Donations can be made in Sue’s name at www. nationalmssociety.org Arrangements under the direction of Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing, MI 48917, (517) 321-2211.
