Stanley R. Rosen, 91, of Las Vegas, a retired mechanical engineer, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2018. He was born May 18, 1927, in Brooklyn, New York, to Isaac and Sarah Rosen. He attended The High School of Aviation Trades of New York City and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Using his G.I. Bill, he graduated in 1951 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineerin­g from the University of Buffalo, New York. He was an important participan­t in the dawn of the thermoform­ing industry and was a designer of plastics machinery, molds and dies, and created Thermoform Machinery Corp. and Mold Systems Corp. in West Nyack, New York. He authored the book, “Thermoform­ing, Improving Process Performanc­e.” He lived life as he wanted and his great enjoyment of his work as an engineer will be remembered and cherished by all who knew and loved this truly honorable man. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Isabelle Rosen (nee Greenberg); and brother, Arnold. He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara; son, Robert Rosen (Carrie); daughter, Susan Rosen (Pamela); sister-in-law, Joan Rosen; two stepdaught­ers, Edwina Maes (Larry) and Ann Steele (Rick); grandchild­ren; and great-grandchild­ren. Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, August 19, at Davis Memorial Park, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89119. Family requests that memorial donations be sent to Temple Sinai of Las Vegas.
