14 — At Orlando, Fla., Tua Tagovailoa was 12 of 16 passing for 227 yards and two touchdowns and ran for a TD in his first start for the Crimson Tide (1-0), who got an 18-yard scoring run and a 77-yard kickoff return for a TD from Josh Jacobs. Jawon Pass threw for 252 yards and two TDs for the Cardinals (0-1). ■ No. 2 Clemson 48, Furman

7— At Clemson, S.C., freshman Trevor Lawrence threw for three touchdowns, and the Tigers (1-0) scored on all five of his drives. The Paladins (0-1) totaled 163 yards of offense, and their TD came with 1:18 left.

■ Virginia 42, Richmond 13

— At Charlottes­ville, Va., Bryce Perkins ran for 108 yards and two touchdowns and passed for 185 yards and two TDs for the Cavaliers (1-0). Linebacker Dale Matthews Jr. returned an intercepti­on 72 yards for a TD for the Spiders (0-1), who mustered 225 yards of offense.

■ North Carolina State 24,

James Madison 13 — At Raleigh, N.C., Jakobi Meyers had 14 catches for 161 yards, including grabs of 39 and 10 yards to convert third downs on the clinching drive by the Wolfpack (1-0). Ben DiNucci threw for 197 yards and a TD for the Dukes (0-1).

■ Pittsburgh 33, Albany 7 —

At Pittsburgh, Maurice Ffrench returned the opening kickoff 91 yards for a touchdown and added a 9-yard scoring run for the Panthers (1-0), who intercepte­d Vincent Testaverde twice. Dev Holmes had nine catches for 148 yards for the Great Danes (0-1).

■ Georgia Tech 41, Alcorn State

0— At Atlanta, KirVonte Benson ran for two touchdowns for the Yellow Jackets (1-0), who had 10 players carry the ball en route to

amassing 439 yards rushing. The Braves (0-1) were outgained 543146 in yards of offense.

■ Boston College 55,

Massachuse­tts 21 — At Boston, Anthony Brown threw for 279 yards and four touchdowns while playing the opening half in his return from a season-ending knee injury for the Eagles (1-0). Andrew Ford threw two intercepti­ons for the Minutemen (0-1).
