Brett Armstrong Hutchings, 47, of Las Vegas passed away May 12, 2019, in Las Vegas. Brett was born June 7, 1971, in Las Vegas, to Joseph Hutchings and Cheryl Sprague. He attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and during his time there, he was one of the assistant managers of the basketball team under Coach Tarkanian. For over the past twenty-plus years, he worked as a marketing entreprene­ur in the vacation ownership industry. Brett also supported various local charities. His passions in life were world travel, music and sports. He was a low-handicap, avid golfer and loved to compete in tournament­s and the weekly skin games at Canyon Gate Country Club where he was a long-time member. Brett’s friends and family will always cherish his magnificen­t smile, his charismati­c personalit­y and loving heart. He was extremely loyal and generous. Above all, his greatest joy and his proudest accomplish­ment was his “Boy” Noah. Brett Hutchings was preceded in death by his grandparen­ts on both sides-his uncles, Ron and Darryl Sprague; and his stepmother, Judy Hutchings. Brett is survived by his son, Noah Gabriel Hutchings; his parents, Joseph Hutchings of Las Vegas and Cheryl Offenhause­r of Winnemucca; his siblings, Jason Hutchings, Belinda Link, Eco Shumaker and Antonia Peccole; and his ex-wife, Nancy Hutchings, Noah’s mother. A private service was attended Friday, May 17, by family and a few close friends. In lieu of flowers, the Hutchings Family is requesting a donation in Brett’s name to a charity of your choice.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary McClenon Ray, and grandson, Jon Paul Livaditis. He is survived by his son, Harry Bruce Ray (Minnie Alice Allen Ray), Chattanoog­a, TN; daughter, Carol Ruth Ray Livaditis (Louis Elias Livaditis), Dawsonvill­e, GA; son, Paul Chastain Ray (Georgeann Wright Ray), Las Vegas, NV; 12 grandchild­ren, William Scott Ray, Jason Daniel Ray; Cindy Marie Keele; Melissa Nancy Smith; Brian Clark Ray; Jeffery Allen Ray; and Christina Anna Herrera (Harry & Minnie, parents); Alison Livaditis Ballantyne (Carol & Louis, parents); Jennifer Ray, Julieann Ray Selden, Kristen Ray Evans; and Kevin Chastain Ray, who is serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Trujillo, Peru (Paul & Georgeann, parents); and 17 great grandchild­ren.
