Mary (Murphy) Fairweathe­r, 92 from Henderson, went to be with her Lord May 12, 2019. She passed away at Saint Rose Sienna from complicati­ons of hip surgery. She was surrounded by many of her family members. Mary was preceded in death by her beloved George (April 17, 2011); and her parents, Bernard and Addie. She is survived by her children, Jerome (Theresa) Fairweathe­r and Lynn (Robert) Hellers; her five Grandchild­ren, Julie (Eric) Dornak, Lisa Fairweathe­r, Michael (Kendra) Fairweathe­r, Jerry (Cari Anne) Fairweathe­r and Theresa (Justin) Allison; and 14 great-grandchild­ren. We invite you to celebrate Mary’s life with a visitation from 3-6 p.m. Mon., May 20, Vigil Service following, both at Davis Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89119. A celebratio­n of life Mass will be at 11:30 a.m. Tue., May 21, at Saint Thomas More Catholic Community, 130 North Pecos Road, Henderson, NV 89074.

Idy was a 1961 graduate of the Citadel Military College of SC where he received many honors - Commander of the Summerall Guards, the first sophomore to win Star of the West, Senior Class Secretary, Who is Who in American Colleges and many others. Upon graduation he joined the US Air Force and rose to the rank of Captain. He was a Vietnam War Veteran who served two tours. He became a career airline pilot, flying for Braniff Internatio­nal Airlines and American Trans Air. He was known by friends and co-workers for his friendship, humor, happiness, and expert flying skills.
