ALBERT J GUIDA

-

Albert J. Guida passed away peacefully at his home in Henderson Saturday, May 11, 2019. He enjoyed 91 years of living life to its fullest and was able to pass on after saying goodbye to his family the previous day. He was born in Dunkirk, NY, in 1928 and was a driven spirit who wanted all that life offered. He joined the U.S. Navy at age 18 and was stationed at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, where he worked with first generation of unmanned aerial vehicles. After leaving the service, following the advice of his best friend, he took a trip to Las Vegas and fell in love with this place. He went home, sold his music business, packed up his wife and one-year old son and headed west. Originally, he planned to open a music store but was intrigued by an ad in the newspaper offering unlimited earning potential. This turned out to be an opportunity to go into the life insurance business which he did and was immediately successful. He built a great business and enjoyed helping his clients achieve financial security. By any measure he was a larger than life character that truly enjoyed his family, friends and life. Always a smile, laughter and accepting of others, he was loved by all those he touched. Preceded in death by his wife, of over 50 years, Gerry. He is survived by his son, Albert Guida Jr; daughter, Lisa Armitage; and grandchildren, Adrianna Guida, Addison Guida, Austin Guida, Carli Armitage and Jacob Armitage. Services will be at noon Wed, May 22 at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123.
