■ No. 17 Tennessee 72, No. 20 Virginia Commonweal­th 69: At Niceville, Fla., Lamonte Turner hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift the Volunteers (6-1) past the Rams (6-2) in the Emerald Coast Classic third-place game.

Marcus Santos-Silva scored 22 points and De’Riante Jenkins 15 for VCU, which trailed by 13 in the second half.

John Fulkerson had 17 points and seven rebounds, Jordan Bowden 14 points and Turner 12 points for Tennessee.

■ NO. 21 COLORADO 59, Sacramento State 45: Tyler Bey had 11 points and 17 rebounds for the Buffaloes (6-0), who closed on a 14-5 run to subdue the Hornets (4-1).

Ethan Esposito scored 12 points to pace Sacramento State, whose leading scorer, Joshua Patton, mustered four points on 1-for-8 shooting.

Evan Battey had 11 points and McKinley Wright IV 10 for Colorado, which led 24-16 at halftime.

■ NO. 25 XAVIER 87, Lipscomb 62: Tyrique Jones had 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Musketeers (7-1), who notched a season high in points while routing the Bisons (2-5).

Naji Marshall scored nine straight Xavier points in the second half and totaled 13. Paul Scruggs paced Musketeers scorers with 15 points.

■ CAL STATE NORTHRIDGE 73, Fresno State 72: Terrell Gomez hit two free throws with four seconds left and totaled 31 points to send the Mastadons (1-7) past the Bulldogs (2-4).

Darius Brown II and Lance Coleman II scored 14 points apiece for Northridge, which made 12 of 28 3-point tries. The Mastadons trailed 41-39 at halftime.

Nate Grimes had 20 points and 11 rebounds for Fresno State, which missed 24 of 35 3-point attempts.
