NEW MEXICO
■ San Diego State 48, Central Michigan 11 — At Albuquerque, N.M., Ryan Agnew threw for 287 yards and three TDs for the Aztecs (10-3), who buried the Chippewas (8-6) for their first bowl win since 2016.
Jesse Matthews had three catches for 111 yards and two TDs in San Diego State’s 10th straight bowl appearance. Aztecs coach Rocky Long, who won the New Mexico Bowl in 2007 as New Mexico’s coach, is 4-9 in bowl games.
NEW ORLEANS
■ No. 20 Appalachian State 31, Alabama-Birmingham 17 — At New Orleans, Darrynton Evans ran for 161 yards, including a 31-yard TD after he scooped up a fourth-down fumble, for the Mountaineers (13-1), who spotted the Blazers (9-5) a 14-0 lead.
BOCA RATON
■ Florida Atlantic 52, Southern Methodist 28 — At Boca Raton, Fla., Chris Robison threw for 305 yards and two TDs for the Owls (11-3), who blitzed the Mustangs (10-3) to improve to 4-0 in bowl games.
James Charles ran for two TDs for FAU, which scored two TDs in a 24-second span late in the first half. The Owls tied a program record for wins in a season.
CAMELLIA
■ Arkansas State 34, Florida International 26 — At Montgomery, Ala., Layne Hatcher passed for 393 yards and four TDs for the Red Wolves (8-5), who had two interceptions in the final minutes to thwart the Panthers (6-7).
CURE
■ Liberty 23, Georgia Southern 16 — At Orlando, Fla., Frankie Hickson ran for 120 yards for the Flames (8-5), who edged the Eagles (7-6) to become the third team to move from FCS to FBS and win a bowl game in its first year of eligibility.
CELEBRATION
■ North Carolina A&T 64, Alcorn State 44 — At Atlanta, Kylil Carter threw for 364 yards and six TDs and ran for 96 yards for the Aggies (9-3), who have beaten the Braves (9-4) in three of the five Celebration Bowls, including two straight.
